Bollywood actress Neena Gupta recently launched her autobiography Sach Kahun Toh and has spoken about various chapters of her life, both professional and personal. Neena Gupta, who has been in the movie business for so long, revealed in her book that the couch casting is a real thing in showbiz, but clarified that she has never met him. In a paragraph from her book Such Kahun Toh, Neena wrote, “Now does the casting couch exist and have I ever had to sit (sleep? It seems uncomfortable) on it? The answer is: Yes there is, and no I have never experienced it. I’ve always seen him for what it was: a sexual favor offered in exchange for something that might not be what you imagined.

However, the veteran actress opened up about an incident in her book when a producer sought sexual favors in exchange for a role in a movie, but she turned down her advance.

Here is the paragraph from her autobiography: “A friend of mine once told me to go visit a producer who was a big southern hat. He was visiting for a few days and was staying at the Sun-n-Sand Hotel. arrived at the hotel, I called the producer from a phone in the lobby. “Yes, yes, I was expecting you,” he said. “Come upstairs.”

“So what’s my role, sir?” I finally asked him when he stopped to catch his breath. “The heroine’s friend,” he said. When he explained it to me, it seemed like a very small part. ‘Ok … I have to go now, sir’ I said, ‘My friends are waiting for me.’ … ‘Leave? Where? He asked. He looked genuinely shocked. Aren’t you going to spend the night here? ‘”

Speaking to NDTV recently, the actress reassessed the situation in retrospect and said she could have been more careful and called her young self somewhat ‘desperate’ for the job: “You have to be careful. my stupidity, I should have called in the lobby and talked. Why would I go to someone’s room late at night to talk? Because I was desperate, maybe if I did. was calling downstairs, he might feel bad. But we shouldn’t be doing this. If I would have called him in the lobby, it wouldn’t have happened. Maybe it would have been, but I would have felt great safer, ”the actress said in her interview.

The 62-year-old actress also gave some advice to newcomers to the industry and said, “No one here is forcing you to sleep with them. You have to decide how far you want to compromise. It’s very simple – if you say no, there are 10 other girls ready to say yes. You don’t have to sleep with them and they will give you a part. They might give you a small part, somewhere in the crowd. It’s business. It’s your choice. “

As for work, Neena Gupta was last seen in Sardar Ka Grandson and the sports drama ’83 is slated for release.
